What is BNC 2026
BNC 2026 is an international academic conference titled “Beyond Nature and Culture: Planetary Precarity in Literary-Cultural-Linguistic Representations.” It brings together scholars working in literature, cultural studies, ecology, posthumanism, environmental justice, linguistics, and pedagogy.

When and where will the conference take place?
The conference will take place on 4–5 December 2026 in Bangladesh, hosted by Daffodil International University (DIU). All official scheduling will follow Asia/Dhaka (UTC+6).

Is the conference hybrid?
Yes. BNC 2026 will be held in hybrid mode, so participants may join onsite or online.

Who can submit to the conference?
The conference welcomes submissions from academics, researchers, teachers, postgraduate students, and interdisciplinary scholars whose work connects with the conference themes and tracks.

What are the conference tracks?
The conference has four tracks: Track 1: Colonial Modernity, Biopolitics, and Precarity; Track 2: More-than-Human Agency, Posthuman Ecologies, and the Uncanny; Track 3: Eco-cultural Rifts, Water/Landscapes, and Environmental Justice; Track 4: Linguistics, ELT Pedagogy, and Sustainability Literacy.

What is the abstract submission deadline?
The deadline for abstract submission is 15 June 2026.

How long should the abstract be?
The abstract should be 150–200 words.

What should be included in the abstract?
Each abstract should include the paper title, author name(s), affiliation(s), country, corresponding author’s email, selected track, 4–6 keywords, and preferred mode of participation (onsite or online). Authors may also include an SDG relevance/impact line where relevant.

What file format should I use for submission?
Authors may submit abstracts in DOCX or PDF format.

How will abstracts be reviewed?
Abstracts will go through an editorial screening and review process under the conference’s academic review structure. The conference planning documents also indicate a blind review policy and a workflow involving track editors, screening editors, and reviewers.

When will acceptance notifications be sent?
Acceptance notifications are scheduled to be sent between 17 July and 30 July 2026.

What are the registration fees?
The current registration fees are: Regular Registration: 5,000 BDT / 50 USD / 40 EUR / 4,000 INR; Early Bird Registration: 3,500 BDT / 35 USD / 30 EUR / 3,000 INR.

What does the registration fee include?
The registration fee covers conference access, conference kit, food and certificate.

Can I participate without presenting a paper?
Yes. Participant-only registration will be available for those who wish to attend the conference without presenting a paper.

Will accepted presenters be invited to submit full papers?
Yes. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit full papers. The announced full paper submission window is 1 August to 30 October 2026.

Is publication guaranteed after abstract acceptance or presentation?
No. Abstract acceptance or conference presentation does not automatically guarantee publication. Full papers will go through editorial screening and, where applicable, further review and revision before final publication decisions are made.

Will selected papers be considered for publication with Springer Nature?
Yes. Selected papers will be considered for edited-volumes publication with Springer Nature and Star Scholars Network (Scopus). The publication pathway is planned for inclusion in a Scopus-indexed series, subject to the publisher’s final indexing status.

Can I present online?
Yes. Since the conference is hybrid, presenters may participate online or onsite. Authors should mention their preferred mode of participation at the time of abstract submission.

Will invitation letters be provided for visa purposes?
Yes. Invitation or supporting letters may be issued to accepted and registered international participants upon request, according to the conference office’s policy and timeline.

Will the conference provide accommodation for onsite participants?
No. Accommodation is not included in the registration fee. But if you book accommodation from our suggested hotels or guest houses, we will provided transportation to and from.

Can the organizers help participants find nearby hotels or guest houses?
Yes. The DIU conference team will suggest and help participants find suitable accommodation options. However, the cost of accommodation must be borne by the registered participants themselves.

Is accommodation included in the registration fee?
No. The registration fee covers conference access, kit, food and certificate only. Accommodation is not included.

Will any special accommodation rates be arranged for conference participants?
At present, no special accommodation rate has been formally announced. Participants will be informed later if any partner hotel or negotiated rate becomes available.

Will the conference provide TA/DA for presenters, speakers, or participants?
No. There will be no TA/DA.

Are travel expenses reimbursed by the conference?
No. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed by the conference. Participants will need to bear their own travel costs.

Is any local hospitality support available for invited speakers or special guests?
Any local hospitality arrangements for officially invited speakers or special guests will be communicated separately by the organizers as applicable.

What expenses must participants bear on their own?
Participants should be prepared to bear their own travel, accommodation, visa-related expenses, and other personal costs unless separately informed otherwise by the organizers. The announced registration fee covers only conference access, kit, food and certificate.

If a paper is submitted by multiple authors, do they all need to make payment for registration?
Yes, the corresponding author must make payments on behalf of all the authors.
